In May 2026, YS Marine was appointed as an LNG / FSRU instructor at the Korea Maritime & Ocean University (KMOU) ETRS Centre — an industry–academia collaboration to pass field experience and practical technical knowledge to the next generation.
The appointment connects YS Marine’s hands-on survey and operating experience with KMOU’s training programmes. The aim is straightforward: bring what actually happens onboard — in the engine room, on the cargo deck, during trials and inspections — into the classroom and the simulator, so that seafarers and engineers learn from current, practical experience.
The instruction centres on LNG carriers and FSRU operations: cargo and gas handling, containment systems, dual-fuel and gas-mode machinery, and the safety regime around them. These are exactly the areas where careful, experienced judgement matters most — and where YS Marine’s recent newbuild trial and condition-monitoring work feeds directly into the teaching.
Teaching sharpens practice. Staying close to training, standards, and the latest operational questions keeps our survey work current — and reinforces the same commitment to technical rigour and clarity that our clients rely on in the field.
